Pokémon TCG Chaos Rising Build and Battle Box preorders are nearly $5 under market price — save vs. TCGplayer
TL;DR: Walmart has the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Chaos Rising Build and Battle Box up for preorder at $59.99 with free shipping, while TCGplayer’s unopened listings start at $64.66 shipped.
If you’re the type of Pokémon TCG collector who loves to play the actual trading card game, you can now preorder the upcoming Chaos Rising expansion’s Build and Battle Box for under market price.
As of April 20, Walmart has the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Chaos Rising Build and Battle Box listed for $59.99 with free shipping, sold and shipped by Cataclysm Games. By comparison, over at TCGplayer, unopened presale listings start at $64.66 with shipping included, with the listed median sitting at $64.67 and the current market price at $64.38.
That makes Walmart the better buy right now by just under $5, which is a strong dip for a preorder price on a Pokémon TCG expansion — where newly dropped pricing can usually be pretty tight between retailers.
As for what you’re getting compared to Chaos Rising ETBs and Booster Bundles, Build and Battles Boxes are designed to get you gameplay ready with the new expansion from the get-go — by including both a pre-built deck and booster packs to tweak it with.
Specifically, each Chaos Rising Build and Battle Box includes:
A 40-card ready-to-play deck
One of four unique foil promo cards
Four Mega Evolution Chaos Rising booster packs
A code card for Pokémon TCG Live
The four possible promo cards are Delphox, Ampharos, Crobat, and Goodra. The Pokémon Company says these boxes will also be used at prerelease events starting May 9, ahead of the expansion’s official May 22 release.
Chaos Rising includes over 120 cards and continues the Mega Evolution series with Pokémon like Mega Greninja ex, Mega Pyroar ex, Mega Floette ex, and Mega Dragalge ex.
For even more packs and extras from the new Pokémon TCG expansion, the Chaos Rising Elite Trainer Box is also available to preorder for slightly under $115. If you haven’t had the chance to try the current expansion yet, the Pokémon TCG Perfect Order Build and Battle Box is now ready to buy for less than $40.
