The Pokémon TCG First Partner Illustration Collection Series 2 is on sale at Amazon — save close to $10

It turns out that Pokémon’s second First Partner Illustration Collection has already fallen a long way from its early preorder price, and Amazon is actually now pushing the partner-inspired box much closer to the $50 mark.
As of July 21, the Pokémon TCG First Partner Illustration Collection Series 2 is available on Amazon for as low as $50.87. This cuts $9.12 from its $59.99 list price, giving keen trading card collectors a 15% discount on the complete box.
You should know, however, this lower-priced listing is sold and shipped by third-party seller Collectors Expedition rather than Amazon directly — with free delivery currently scheduled for July 27-28. That said, this still comes with Amazon’s usual 30-day refund or replacement window, which gives buyers some protection if the box arrives damaged or with another issue.
On the other hand, Walmart and TCGplayer are offering even lower prices, which is not unusual compared to Amazon in the Pokémon TCG market these days. For instance, Walmart has the collection listed for $41.99, while TCGplayer has unopened copies starting at $40.71 with shipping included. That undercuts the current market price of $40.73.
That being said, $50.87 is a far more reasonable Amazon price than the $94.79 preorder listing we spotted back in June.
Series 2 continues the collection’s 30th-anniversary theme by focusing on first partner Pokémon from Johto, Unova, and Galar. That means Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble make up the nine possible illustration rare-style promo cards.
Each box contains one special pack with three of those nine promos, so completing the full set will require more than one collection unless you trade for the cards you are missing. You also get two standard Pokémon TCG booster packs (shown in the product imagery as Perfect Order and Chaos Rising) plus a sticker sheet featuring the first partner Pokémon.
